Diet feeder hungry for action

Milking 460 cows, the McDonnell family decided to change from a KEENAN Klassik 200 (in its 17th year!) to a MechFiber345SP, having seen it at the National Ploughing Championships the previous year. The main benefits they found were in the areas of; reduction in waste on the pit face of between 70-80%, consistent mix, need for only one machine for feeding, and the overall safety of the machine.

KEENAN help pave the way for road in UK to be made from recycled plastic

McRebur, The Plastic Road Company uses KEENAN mixers to mix recycled plastic for roads across the world. In this latest article, read how this initiative is being brought to the UK, with Carlisle being chosen as the first city to have a street made from recycled plastic.

The Lowther Street project will recycle the equivalent of approximately 238,958 plastic bags that would otherwise have been incinerated or go to landfill.

The Archbold-Alltech Research Alliance was created between staff at Buck Island Ranch and researchers from the animal nutrition company, Alltech. The partnership is just beginning, but the overall goal is to increase the quality and quantity of beef produced in subtropical regions, while maintaining and enhancing the environment.

“We are trying to understand how individual plants species vary in digestibility and potential methane emissions and if nutritional interventions may affect digestibility,” says Sonnier.
