Forage quality analysis through bunker density screenings and thermal infrared cameras.
Mycotoxin, mold and yeast screenings.
Conducts forage storage audits and helps you establish a management plan.
Analyzes cow behavior related to forage quality through time lapse cameras.
Works with you to troubleshoot so you can achieve individual farm objectives and a protective feeding program.

Derek's Bio:

Derek Wawack joined Alltech in early 2011 after graduating from the University of Minnesota, Crookston where he received his bachelor’s degree in animal science pre-veterinary medicine. He currently resides in central Minnesota and serves as an Elite Dairy Advisor as part of the Alltech On-Farm Support Program. He has consulted on farms across North America focusing on everything from feed quality and its effects on animal performance, to storage forage management, along with mold, yeast and mycotoxin troubleshooting.

Derek takes a more proactive approach to feed quality at the farm while utilizing many different tools and programs such as the 37+ mycotoxin program, infrared technology, and much more to evaluate quality and performance of the feed. He visits farms for both troubleshooting purposes and some on a regular basis for routine quality monitoring.
