Profit from the Core
Date: Wednesday, January 30
Join us at our annual breakfast meeting where Professor Damien McLaughlin from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Ireland will present “Profit from the Core.” Defining the core of a poultry company is the cornerstone of a modern business strategy. “The core” is what makes a poultry operation unique and is the key source of competitive advantage.
Some of the pitfalls of misdefining the core or of taking it for granted include: spreading resources too widely; inadequately defending the true core from competitor attacks; generating confusion within the organization; prematurely abandoning the true core and pursuing the wrong growth adjacencies. Profitable growth, particularly in the poultry industry, requires true leadership in the core business.
